This list distills some tactics, things we do at the negotiation, from various researchers and authors. In the book, 161 Negotiation Tactics, we interviewed negotiators who identified as “professional” which means they spent more than 50% of their workday persuading, influencing and negotiating, They gave us the their top tactics. We then interviewed, sales people, lawyers, hostage negotiators, police officers, combat veterans and parents on what they use to persuade. This searchable list contains some of those tactics as well as those from other researchers and continuing research. This list is updated when The Persuasion Lab review panel thinks an addition merits inclusion. Again, nothing in site, or this list is intended as legal, psychological, medical or financial advice, consult a professional if you intend to materially change your position using this information and do not publish or label your observations of others publicly. For example, “Anti-Social Personality Disorder” or “Narcissistic Personalty Disorder traits, or “tells are gleaned from DSM-V, but an actual diagnosis is a very different and complex matter, even greater than the traits the DSM-V or other source identifies.
