The time pressure procedural tactic is in play when arbitrary deadlines are imposed that may not be critical, but which are portrayed as important.

Example

“We need to close by Tuesday, or I will go with someone else.”

Solution

To handle this common tactic, discuss process, schedule, milestones, and deadlines with the person creating the artificial time crisis.
