Identification
Recall the saying, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Wherever you can get someone else to do your dirty work, do it. Not only do you use someone else’s resources and abilities to your advantage, but you can also avoid dirtying your name while accomplishing your goal.
Example
The Americans knew their limitations when it came to defeating the Axis Powers in World War II. So what did they do? They got cozy with the Soviet Union, who had the means to win important battles. As we all know, this strategy was ultimately successful.
Solution
Limit the kinds of favors you do for someone, and recognize the signs of manipulation. What are they really asking you to do, and what are the consequences?
